A hair transplant planned around your hairline.
At Colombia Care, FUE and DHI are not rival options you have to choose between. A physician combines both in one plan, harvesting conservatively and placing each graft for a result that looks natural at any age. From $1.30 per graft, at an INVIMA-licensed clinic in Medellín.
FUE and DHI, combined into one plan.
Both methods move your own permanent follicles from the back and sides of the scalp to where they are needed. The difference is in how the follicles are placed, and the best results often use both.
Follicular Unit Extraction
Follicles are harvested one at a time from the donor area, with no linear scar and a faster, more comfortable recovery. It is the foundation of nearly every case and how we protect the donor area for the long term.
Direct Hair Implantation
Each follicle is implanted directly with a specialized tool that controls depth, angle, and direction. That precision is what makes a hairline look grown rather than placed, so we lean on it where detail matters most.
The combined plan
In practice the two work together: FUE to harvest and rebuild coverage, DHI to refine the hairline and high-visibility zones. A surgeon designs the blend around your hair and your goals, then performs it personally.
FUE & DHI results, real patients.
A few recent cases, photographed at the clinic. The same physician team planned and placed every graft.
Transparent, per-graft pricing.
You pay per graft, quoted up front after your consultation, with no surprises on the day. A typical FUE case of 2,000 to 3,000 grafts runs a fraction of the US, Canadian, or UK price for the same work, with the same medical-grade materials.

Who a hair transplant is for
The best candidates have a stable donor area at the back and sides of the scalp, enough healthy follicles to redistribute, and realistic goals for coverage. A transplant restores hair where it has thinned or receded; it does not stop future loss of your existing hair, which is why a physician plans the case with the years ahead in mind.
A consultation is the fastest way to know for sure. As a general guide, a transplant tends to suit you if:
- Your hairline has receded, or the crown or temples have thinned
- You have a healthy donor area to harvest from
- You want a permanent result rather than a daily routine
- You are in good general health and can travel for a short visit
If a transplant is not the right step for you yet, the physician will say so on the call, and may suggest non-surgical options to protect the hair you have first.

Send a few photos of your scalp. A physician reviews them, estimates your graft count, and recommends an FUE and DHI plan. If you are not a good candidate, we will tell you.

1–2 days in Medellín
The procedure is outpatient and done under local anesthetic. You are awake, comfortable, and walk out the same day. Most patients fly home within 48 hours.
12-month regrowth
Transplanted hair sheds, then regrows from around month three. Density builds through month twelve, with WhatsApp check-ins the whole way.
What recovery actually looks like.
The honest version, so there are no surprises. Most patients are presentable within days and back to normal life quickly; the visible result then builds over the year.
First 48 hours
Mild soreness and tightness, managed with simple medication. You rest, keep the area clean, and sleep slightly elevated. You can fly home after this point.
First week
Tiny scabs form around each graft and the donor area settles. Many patients return to desk work within a few days; we guide you on washing and care by WhatsApp.
Weeks 2 to 4
Scabs are gone and the transplanted hairs shed, this is normal and expected, not a setback. The scalp looks much like it did before, while the roots settle in.
Months 3 to 12
New hair starts growing from around month three and thickens steadily. Most of the result is visible by month eight, with full density through month twelve.

FUE & DHI, answered.
FUE or DHI, which do I need?
You do not have to decide. FUE harvests follicles one at a time and works for almost any case. DHI implants each follicle directly for very dense, precise placement, often at the hairline. The physician recommends the right blend of both for your goals and donor area in the free consultation.
Will the result look natural?
That is the whole job. Natural results come from hairline design and the angle, direction, and density each graft is placed at, which is why a physician plans and oversees your case rather than handing it to technicians.

Is a hair transplant permanent?
The transplanted follicles are taken from the back and sides of the scalp, which are naturally resistant to the hormone that causes pattern hair loss. Once they regrow, they behave like the donor hair they came from. Existing non-transplanted hair can still thin over time, so the physician plans your case with that in mind.
Does it hurt, and how long is recovery?
The procedure is done under local anesthetic, so you are awake but comfortable. Most patients describe mild soreness for a day or two. Visible scabbing settles within about ten days, and most people return to work within a few days.
How many grafts will I need, and what will it cost?
Most cases fall between 1,500 and 3,500 grafts depending on the area and the look you want. Pricing starts at $1.30 per graft, and you get an exact quote after your consultation, confirmed before you travel, never on arrival.
